WINNER! 1st place for 'Best Flavored Chocolate' at the 2012 San Francisco Chocolate Salon
35% milk chocolate
roasted brown rice
roasted green and fragrant jasmine tea
Tasting notes: The sweet milk chocolate is balanced by the deep nuttiness & crunchiness of the brown rice & is followed by the floral tea aftertaste.
Country of Inspiration: Japan
This is the first bar created by Jade Chocolates putting us on the map to artisan chocolate bars. This is the upscale version to traditional rice and chocolate bars. 'Genmai' translates to 'brown rice or unpolished rice' & with the addition of tea, our chocolate bar is actually a Genmai Cha ('cha' meaning 'tea') bar.

A New Favorite!I found this delectable bar in my Christmas stocking and enjoyed every bite. A truly compelling blend of savory, salt and sweet. Thank you!Written by Kathryn T S Bass on Tue 4 Jan 2011 10:13:32 PM GMT
YummyThis east coast boy says 'yummy yummy yummy I got love in my tummy'...love your unique chocolates..bought for me by my ducky girlfriendWritten by BigDaddy on Sun 5 Dec 2010 1:18:15 AM GMT
THE BEST EVERI had tasted this at the 2009 SF Chocolate Festival and OHMG it was amazing. I only bought this one bar because I felt it was the best out of all of them (standard chocolate tastes are pretty much the same to me...) but this one was special.
Even a year later, drinking my Genmai tea, I can still imagine the taste and smell. Crunchy yet soft on the tongue. Smooth flavors combined into the best chocolate bar ever.
I should have bought more than just one bar, I totally regret it.Written by E. S. on Wed 24 Nov 2010 9:07:33 AM GMT

ORIENT ESPRESSO

50% bittersweet & milk chocolate blend
oak roasted espresso
cardamom
Tasting Notes: This bar is extremely smooth & creamy with strong caramel notes. It's light on the espresso and pleasantly scented with hints of floral cardamom.
Countries of Inspiration: Vietnam and Turkey
The blending of Turkish and Vietnamese coffee is the inspiration for this bar. Vietnamese coffee is extremely sweet with heaps of condensed milk added to the beverage while Turkish coffee is generally very dark with little to no sugar added. An aromatic spice such as cardamom is usually ground into Turkish coffee.
